Players and parents are encouraged to become involved in coaching. You do not have to be a member of MANC to become a coach for MANC. You must be at least 14 years of age and will be expected to attend a Foundation Coaching Course throughout the year to become an accredited coach. There will also be other courses and programs on offer throughout the year that you will be encouraged to attend. MANC will organize and pay for this. New coaches will begin as a shadow coach to a more experienced coach to gain experience and confidence. ANyone over the age of 18 must have a Working With Children Check.
You will need to be available for coaching on Tuesday nights and for games on Fridays (Year 4's) or Saturdays. Coaching Supervisors will attend your training sessions every week and sometimes your games to offer you support and guidance with your teams. They are available to help you in any way you need. Years 4-9 train on Tuesday nights at Macleay Park.
You will also be required to select players from your team for annual awards (2 per team) and give a speech at presentation day towards the end of the year.
All junior coaches (school and tertiary age) will receive payment for the year in appreciation for their time and effort. Payments are structured per team and according to qualifications. Further information is available on application to MANC as per email address below.
